Artist Statement: This painting of an autumn morning shows the obvious beauty of the leaves changing, while also touching on the bittersweet reality of change. The greenish tint of the atmosphere represents the melancholy of life ending. At the same time, the bright reds and oranges hold the truth of the beauty that transformation can bring. Autumn serves as a monumental reminder that time will pass, and the seasons change. It can be both devastating and enlightening, scary and exciting. On a cold autumn morning, I am sure you can hear the leaves letting go, and maybe it will help us do the same.

Artist Bio: Kylie Amber is a Utah based artist who works with acrylics, oils, and watercolor. Her subject matter consists of elements from nature and landscape to explore the energy of the earth. Amber incorporates phthalo green into her work, which to her is a color that evokes emotions of both pain and peace. With this color she portrays the dualism of life experiences wherein which there is both heartache and magnificence and creates a world where they can coexist in magical ways.
